Everything you need to know about connecting your Shopify store to Tryvo.

What the Shopify integration does

The Shopify integration connects your store to Tryvo so you can automatically invite customers to create content after they purchase your products. It powers the entire UGC pipeline — from order detection to reward fulfillment.

Once connected, Tryvo monitors new orders, sends personalized invitations to buyers, and issues rewards (discount codes or store credit) automatically when content is approved.

What data is synced

Tryvo syncs the following data from your Shopify store:

  • Products — Name, images, description, and pricing. Used to generate personalized video scripts.
  • Orders — Order details and fulfillment status. Triggers customer invitations after delivery.
  • Customers — Name and email address. Used to send content creation invitations via email.

Data is synced in real-time via webhooks and periodic polling. All data is stored securely in the EU (Frankfurt).

Permissions explained

When you install the Tryvo app, we request the following Shopify API scopes:

  • read_products — To display your products in campaign setup and generate AI scripts.
  • read_orders — To detect when a customer has received their order and trigger invitations.
  • read_customers — To identify buyers and send them personalized invitations.
  • write_discounts — To automatically create unique discount codes as creator rewards.

We never modify your products, orders, or customer data. The only write permission is for creating discount codes used as rewards.

Step-by-step connection

  1. Navigate to Integrations → Shopify in your brand dashboard.
  2. Enter your store domain (e.g. mystore.myshopify.com).
  3. Review the connection summary and click "Connect to Shopify".
  4. You'll be redirected to Shopify to authorize the app. Click "Install app".
  5. After authorization, you'll be redirected back to Tryvo with a confirmation.

The entire process takes less than 30 seconds.

What happens after connecting

Once connected, the following automations become active:

  • New orders are monitored — when an order is fulfilled, the buyer is eligible for an invitation.
  • Invitations are sent automatically via email (configurable delay after fulfillment).
  • The AI generates a personalized video script for each invited customer.
  • When a submission is approved, a unique discount code is created and sent to the creator.

You can configure timing, reward type, and eligibility rules in your campaign settings.

Troubleshooting

Connection shows "Attention needed"

This means the connection to your store may be broken. Common causes: the Tryvo app was uninstalled from Shopify, or your API access token was revoked. Click "Reconnect" to re-authorize.

Orders aren't syncing

Ensure the Tryvo app is still installed in your Shopify admin under Settings → Apps and sales channels. If it's listed but orders aren't appearing, try disconnecting and reconnecting.

Discount codes aren't being created

Verify that the write_discounts permission was granted during installation. If you previously denied this scope, disconnect and reconnect to re-authorize with all required permissions.

Can I connect multiple stores?

Yes — depending on your plan. The Starter plan supports 1 store, Growth supports 3, and Scale supports up to 10 stores. Each store is connected independently.
